Mirika Flegg is a PhD student and lecturer at the University of Brighton focusing in the areas of resilience and public health. She was the 2016 recipient of the University of Brighton Excellence in Community Engagement Awards and has over fifteen years of experience working with marginalised groups in the United Kingdom, New Zealand and Canada in research, education and practice. Her philanthropic activities currently include working for Boingboing, a not for profit undertaking resilience research and practice development. She is additionally a founding member of the Sussex Peer Support Network, a not for profit collective of peer support groups across health areas. She is also an art and music enthusiast.
