Jiniya Afroze is a PhD research student at the Faculty of Wellbeing, Education and Language Studies of The Open University, UK. Her PhD research is aimed at exploring children’s lived experiences in an Urdu-speaking Bihari community in Bangladesh. Prior to this, Jiniya worked with Save the Children in Bangladesh where she led and managed child protection programs in diverse contexts. Jiniya completed her MA in International Communications and Development from City, University of London where she looked at the representations of gender in natural disaster news during disasters in Bangladesh.
