I am an epidemiologist specializing in domestic violence, children exposure to violence and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). My current work focuses on translating science on childhood adversities into user-friendly resources to promote trauma-informed parenting and communities. I am doing a lot of work to help schools and a wide range of service providers to become trauma-informed. I was recently selected to be a research scholar with the Fulbright Arctic Initiative and am looking for a host institution in Finland to work on a community toolkit for education on childhood trauma and building resilience within the context of families, community and culture.
