Preston Britner

Professor of Human Development & Family Studies at University of Connecticut
Preston A. Britner, Ph.D. is the Philip E. Austin Endowed Chair and a Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Connecticut. He received his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Virginia. He is a University Teaching Fellow, a Fellow of the American Psychological Association, and Editor Emeritus of The Journal of Primary Prevention. Professor Britner’s research interests include single-system design evaluation, attachment-caregiving relationships, youth mentoring, child maltreatment prevention, foster care, systems change in child welfare, and family-focused, community-based prevention/diversion programs for children, youth, and families.
