Crystal Rivers

Clinical Doctoral Student at Arizona State University
Crystal T. Rivers, JD, MA is interested in why some individuals are more adaptive in coping with difficult life events than others. She focuses her efforts on translational research into adaptive coping associated with adversities such as trauma and health-related threats to well-being. Specifically, she seeks to clarify cognitive shift meta-processes that enable people under stress to consciously mobilize novel ways of coping. Her research activities also include gene-environment interplay, emotion regulation, and mindfulness-based interventions. She holds a Juris Doctor from UNC-Chapel Hill School of Law and is currently a Clinical Psychology graduate student at Arizona State University.
