Joachim Duyndam is Professor of Humanism and Philosophy at the University of Humanistic Studies in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Next to his regular academic duties on education and research he holds the position of Dean of Education. His research interests are hermeneutical-philosophical, and include resilience, both from a humanization and a meaning-in-life perspective, in relation to mimesis, exemplars (role models), and empathy.
