Stephanie Yamniuk is an instructor at the University of Manitoba, focusing on children’s rights, family resilience, cross-cultural education, and relationships between schools and diverse families. She was a guest speaker on the child’s rights to participate at the Centre for Human Rights Research and Canadian Museum for Human Rights, 2011 Critical Conversation lecture series, and has spoken on cultural competence and the complex issues of class, ability, gender, and ethnicity/race. She is completing her Doctorate in Education, with a focus on resilience in refugee youth and families. She has served as Regional Director for UNICEF Canada. She teaches in the Faculties of Education, Community Health Sciences (Family Social Sciences), and Social Work.
