Sayma Malik is a clinical psychologist and assistant professor in the Department of Clinical Health Psychology, College of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. She received her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco. Sayma specializes in early intervention and prevention by supporting child-parent attachment relationships. This includes assessment and treatment of young children under the age of five with complex developmental, medical, psycho-social, and trauma histories. Understanding the impact of stress and adverse childhood experiences on health and development is a strong area of clinical and research interest, along with prevention, early intervention and advocacy for children and families.
