Odin Hjemdal, professor of clinical adult psychology and quantitative methods and statistics, and a clinical psychologist at Department of Psychology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim, Norway. His research is related to resilience among adults and adolescents, and particularly measuring protective factors. Developing research based direct measures of protective factors that captures essential protective resources is important because it may contribute to clarifying the relation between risk, vulnerability, protection and mental health. His research also includes mental health, prevention of psychological disorders, psychological components related to somatic health in heart disease and cancer, cognitive therapy and meta-cognitive therapy on anxiety/depression
