Jill Trenholm, RN PhD is a researcher/lecturer at the International Maternal and Child Health unit, Faculty of Medicine and is associated with the Centre for Gender Research, both at Uppsala University, Sweden. In September 2013 she defended her doctoral thesis, an ethnographic study entitled: Women’s Violation, Lost Children and Traumatized Masculinities; the phenomena of rape and war in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). She has worked for many years as a registered nurse in hospital-based trauma units and spent several years at a sexual assault/domestic violence clinic in Canada. She holds as undergraduate degree in Peace and Conflict Studies.
