Jane is a nurse, midwife and health visitor and is currently lecturer and programme lead for the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing programme in the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Southampton. Jane's research interests include: the health and wellbeing of marginalized and vulnerable populations, resilience risk and protection and cross-cultural research. Jane’s PhD study explored the nature and role of resilience in forced migrant families, with specific focus given to Somali families. Jane is the Principal Investigator for a WUN Research Development grant focusing on identifying and understanding risk, resilience and protective pathways to securing reproductive and sexual health for unaccompanied asylum seekers.
