Eliana Suarez

Dr. Eliana Suarez, is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University since 2011. She has an MSW and a PhD in Social Work from the University of Toronto. She has extensive experience in community mental health, specifically the nexus of trauma, resilience, and mental health. Her research examines social perceptions of violence, the health consequences of such violence and the tools survivors of violence use to shape and influence their lives. She is interested in particular in the resilience of individuals in front of experiences of political violence, sexual violence and structural violence.
