Danielle Root is from Listuguj First Nation, Quebec. In the year 2000, she came to Halifax, Nova Scotia and completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology at Saint Mary's University. Since coming to Halifax, Danielle has been actively involved in the Aboriginal community in various capacities; working with, and for Aboriginals is a passion for her. After having her first child, who is now 2 years old, Danielle decided to return to school after working with the federal government for 8 years. She is currently enrolled in the graduate Child and Youth Study Program at Mount Saint Vincent University.
