Alexander V. Makhnach, Ph.D. is a senior researcher at the Institute of Psychology Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. I worked on the development of the program that designed a system of foster care in Russia. Now I am working as a rector at the NGO Institute of Psychology and Psychotherapy, Moscow. I was on the board of experts and then as deputy director for methodology at the ‘Assistance to Russian Orphans’ Program. I was a leading researcher of the program of psychological evaluation of adoptive parents’ applicants under the patronage of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
