Alexa Smith-Osborne

Alexa Smith-Osborne, Ph.D., M.S.W., is an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Clinical Social Work in the School of Social Work, University of Texas at Arlington, and a licensed clinical social worker (L.C.S.W.). Dr. Smith-Osborne’s primary research interests include resilience theory development and its applications to policy/program development, and neurobehavioral-environmental transactions as underpinnings of resilience for vulnerable populations in contexts of adversity throughout the life course. Dr. Smith-Osborne is investigating resilience-based protocols for trauma-exposed children and adult military/veterans. She has examined effects of prevention programs and communication technology on immigrant children’s, military members’, and family resilience.
